Naseem International School was established in the Kingdom of Bahrain, in 1981 as a dual
language school accommodating students from Nursery to Grade 12. The school is accredited by
the Ministry of Education of the Kingdom of Bahrain. We are an IB World School offering the four
International Baccalaureate programmes namely, the PYP, the MYP, the DP and the CP.
Additionally, we are accredited by the Middle States Association (MSA) and the Council of
International Schools (CIS) and we are a candidate school.

The IB CP is a career-focused diploma course that combines two IB certificate courses, a BTEC
Subsidiary Diploma in the students' chosen field of interest and the IB CP Core course (Reflective
Project, Service Learning, Language Development and Personal and Professional Skills).
Following the successful completion of this programme, our students will get the IB CP Diploma, a
BTEC Subsidiary Diploma and the accredited Naseem High School Diploma.

Naseem International School is a multinational and multilingual community. Our philosophy and
curriculum ensure the international mobility of our educational outcomes. Through our school
mission statement and its adherence to an international philosophy, we have committed ourselves
to international-mindedness, interculturalism and global citizenship.

We place a high value on global awareness and the transcendence of national borders with regard
to our academic programmes, our broader community involvement and the international standards
of our accreditation.

Naseem International School inspires life-long learners and global citizens. We at Naseem
International School, are committed to educating the whole person. We aim to provide a balanced
education, which enables students to fulfil their potential in all areas of growth, intellectually,
physically, emotionally, spiritually and socially and empowers them to become the people they can
and want to be.

We realize the importance of students becoming critical thinkers who can take care of themselves
and compassionately care for others. Thus, they take an active, responsible part in shaping our
society and saving the world.

We became the first Google for Education Reference School in the Kingdom of Bahrain. Since
September 2017, all subjects taught from Grade 3 upwards make use of the Google Classroom
applications while using their Chromebook digital device. This is part of our 'Go Green' programme
to be a paperless institute of learning. This was expanded to include younger learners with the
outbreak of Covid.

KINDERGARTEN
Kindergarten students at Naseem International School benefit from a stimulating, engaging and
challenging environment. We believe in using the powerful tool of inquiry to teach our young
students about the world around them. Our curriculum, both in English and Arabic is balanced
through play-based learning, teacher-directed guidance and the provision of carefully planned
learning experiences. This curriculum follows the IB PYP framework and Early Years Foundation
Stage (EYFS) and is staffed by qualified teachers who understand how to best support early
childhood development.

We believe that the early childhood learning period is considered the most important
developmental phase and it is our aim to provide the best possible learning experience to every
individual in the Kindergarten. Children are encouraged to take lead in their learning as well as to
collaborate with others. We view each child as competent and able individuals who are capable of
learning, developing and understanding through a supportive and enabling environment.

Young children learn and develop at different rates and in different ways. We nurture each child's
natural curiosity and acknowledge differences in developmental stages. Aside from language
immersion in English and Arabic, our students from Nursery, KG1 and KG2 experience different
learning opportunities through specialist subjects such as Art, Music, PE, Movement and
Gymnastics, Library and IT. Our newly built STEAM Makerspace provides opportunities for rich,
hands-on and practical activities which nurture creative thinking, teamwork and innovation.
Through the STEAM programme, we are enabling our young learners with the essential
21st-century skills, knowledge and attitudes.

At the heart of Kindergarten is the understanding of the uniqueness of each child and the provision
of a learning experience that would enable each child to develop holistically. Our Kindergarten
celebrates the talents of each individual.

ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

The Elementary School provides a learning environment in which all the students can be happy,
challenged and safe. We want to give all the students the confidence and enthusiasm to become
life-long learners with an appreciation of, and respect for others.

Each class of no more than 24 students is of mixed ability and an effort is made to achieve a
balance in terms of gender and ability rather we do not look at nationality. The classrooms, which

are large and fully resourced, have computers and interactive whiteboards that are used in all
areas of the curriculum.

NIS's Elementary School serves students from Grade 1 through to Grade 5. We provide a warm
and caring atmosphere where each student is assisted in reaching his or her full potential. Our
students receive instruction to think creatively, reason critically and communicate effectively. We
recognize that not all students learn in the same way and structure our programs and instruction to
meet the varying needs of each child. We offer an international skills-based and inquiry-based
programme supported by a professional and well-trained faculty.

The curriculum framework, the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Program (IB PYP), has
been designed specifically for international schools and leads into the IB Middle Years and
Diploma Programs. Educating the whole child is central to the IB Primary Years Program. As we
are a dual-language school, Elementary students spend most of their day with two teachers
(English and Arabic) who teach the academic core of language arts, mathematics, social studies,
science and religion. Students can explore varying interests and develop skills in academic, artistic
and athletic fields. We have specialists in music/drama, art, physical education, gymnastics,
design and technology as well as I.T.C to support our core curriculum. Regular class level
performances introduce students to personal communication skills and provide all students with
the opportunity to perform for our school community. Our Student Services Team (counsellor,
student supervisor, ASL teacher and collaborate with classroom teachers to meet the needs of all
students. Regular communication like the weekly ES Bulletin and Monthly newsletter keeps
parents informed of our events, curriculum and class programme information. We have also
introduced PowerSchool as a communication platform.

The campus facility was built for Kindergarten and Elementary students. Grade level classrooms
are located together so that students and teachers may work closely together. The school
auditorium provides a wonderful venue for musical performances, plays and assemblies. Our
physical education facilities include an indoor gym, basketball and volleyball courts, and two
designated ES playgrounds. We are equipped with a computer lab and a comprehensive library. A
full-service cafeteria provides an early and mid-morning snack for all students.

Parents are welcome at NIS and we encourage an ongoing partnership with parents.

Middle & High School

Naseem International School has overcome the major obstacles of 2020-2021 through believing in
several prime factors: effective planning, resilient faculty and staff, positive community support,
and exemplary student diligence. We simply embarked on the journey together knowing it is
tedious yet attainable and we managed to end the year successfully and safely.

At NIS, Middle & High (MS/HS) School students are provided the opportunities to take intellectual
risks, collaborate with their peers, problem solve and translate real-life situations to their learning.
Students take great pride in their work and take responsibility and ownership of their learning, as
well as their academic achievements.

MS/HS students are well versed in the latest technological advances, and they apply these skills
to their learning, presentations, and assessments. They ensure that they are implementing
21st-century skills throughout all of their learning and subject areas. Student growth is evident, in

their assessments and projects, through the work that they have submitted from the previous
academic year to the current academic year.

Moreover, students can apply their critical thinking skills and knowledge across all subject areas,
as well as maintain a sense of sensitivity towards the subject matter and their peers.
With the ever-increasing changes in the world, Naseem MS/HS students are capable of finding
possible solutions to global issues. They are passionate about these issues globally and locally,
and they are encouraged to apply their knowledge outside of the school environment.

Currently, our school is the only one in Bahrain and one of the unique schools worldwide to offer
all four IB Programs with the latest IB accreditation for the Career-Related program in early 2019.
We are also authorized to offer the Business and Technology Education Council (BTEC) -
Business and BTEC - Art and Design courses which provide High School students with a wider
range of choices for study options.

The High School Diploma, based on the American Curriculum, is formally recognized by the
Bahrain Ministry of Education as equivalent to Bahrain's Secondary Diploma. All courses of study
offered by the school, all textbooks and literary works provided to students, bear the approval of
the Ministry of Education.

All students graduating from NIS will receive the NIS Graduation Diploma. In addition, students
also choose to sit for either the IB Diploma or the IB Career-Related Program in Grade 11 and 12.
As a Naseem community, we believe in doing good and nurturing a serving spirit in ourselves. This
is our investment for the future and the ideology we aim to grow in the hearts and minds of our
learners.
