Who We Are
APG is a trusted private school situated at Capital Governorate – Khamis, Kingdom of Bahrain.
APG started operation in 1996, with around 250 pupils in Grades one, two, and three. The campus was modest, near the historic Khamis Mosque, which was built in 692 AD in Manama Northern Governorate. APG identifies itself with the historical significance of the place but also engages with contemporary issues of peace and well-being of all mankind.

Kindergarten
APG School's Kindergarten Department believes that developmentally appropriate curriculum is one that is age-appropriate, individually appropriate, and socio-culturally appropriate. Our kindergarten framework considers the developmental benchmarks of four to six year-olds and recommends the use of strategies that address the needs and interests of the learners. Our kindergarteners are constantly developing in the different domains (cognitive, language, physical, creative and aesthetic, socio-emotional, and values and character). Thus, beginning at an early age the child must be cared for and given all the opportunities to address current developmental needs and prepare him/her for lifelong learning. Classrooms, therefore, should be multi-level because kindergarteners will differ in their development in each domain. The following are situations that a kindergarten teacher should put to mind:

Primary School Programme (Grades 1 to 6)
Arabian Pearl Gulf Primary School envisions the development of self-directed and lifelong learners, citizens with global awareness, and youth who are committed to excellence with instilled respect for humanity and intercultural sensitivity through a comprehensive and responsible curriculum that stresses high morals and global competence in producing highly educated learners.
Knowledge combined with proper guidance can spell success. A dose of proper guidance should be commenced right from the base itself, that is, in school days. Here comes the role of the primary teacher in molding a child's mind. Educating a child, especially in the beginning years of schooling, is a very delicate job. That is probably because the child's mind is like the unmolded clay at that time. Therefore, to get the best results and prepare them to be well-informed and knowledgeable adults, proper guidance is given by the teachers at Arabian Pearl Gulf School that makes a child ready to face the society.
Specific Objectives of Primary Education at Arabian Pearl Gulf School

At Arabian Pearl Gulf School, primary school teachers aim to broadly educate children. The education addresses their emotional and intellectual development, the development of their creativity, and their acquisition of social, cultural, and physical skills. The program offered is divided into English and Arabic languages, Mathematics and Arithmetic, Exploratory Social Studies, Islamic Studies, Art Education, and Physical Education.
Considering the nature of primary education, the highly qualified primary school teachers of Arabian Pearl Gulf School address and stimulate the children's natural curiosity and their need for holistic development. By offering a structured and interactive educational program, different forms of exploratory education and interesting themes and activities are provided to stimulate their development. Furthermore, they link content and objectives closely to everyday life, and present it in coherence with each other. The Arabian Pearl Gulf School certificate is accredited by Bahrain's Ministry of Education (MOE) and is recognized by the GCC countries.
International General Certificate for Secondary Education (IGCSE)
Arabian Pearl Gulf School is a Cambridge International Examinations (CIE) Centre authorized to offer the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) for 14-16 year olds. Cambridge IGCSE develops learner knowledge, understanding and skills in:

Cambridge IGCSE is taken in over 100 countries worldwide and are widely recognised by higher education institutions and employers around the world as evidence of academic ability. Cambridge IGCSE is equivalent to the GCSE in the United Kingdom. In some parts of the world, schools use Cambridge IGCSE as an international alternative to the local government's examination.
Each learner's performance is benchmarked using eight internationally recognised grades (A*-G). In some countries, IGCSE qualifications will satisfy the entry requirements for university. In others, they are widely used as a preparation for A Level, AS, International Baccalaureate and US Advanced Placement courses.
Grade C in IGCSE English (both First Language and Second Language) satisfies the English proficiency requirements of many universities in the UK and other anglophone countries.

IB Diploma Programme (IBDP) ( For Grades 11&12)
APG culminates its offering of quality education with the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) which enables its graduates to be eligible for university entry in prestigious universities in the country and abroad. Our first IB graduates are now university students in Bahrain, such as the Royal College of Surgeon of Ireland (RCSI) medical programme. Others are studying engineering, law, and business in the universities in Dubai such as the American University of Dubai, universities in Malaysia and the UK.
Our current candidates for graduation are exploring other countries like China, Singapore, Malaysia, Australia, Germany, France, Spain, Canada and the US.
With these international curriculums, APG is living up to its commitment to offer quality opportunities for learners to develop academic and intellectual excellence, a habit of self-direction and lifelong learning, global participation and citizenship, international mindedness and cultural understanding, and holistic and balanced growth.
Digital Media Academy
Arabian Pearl Gulf School offers its educational services to Bahraini and NonBahraini children who share a common genuine desire and strong capability to meet the school’s standards.
A. GENERAL ADMISSION PROCEDURE
1. Minimum age rule. APG School abides by the rule on admission age of students set by the Ministry of Education. Students are placed in a given grade level according to their age. The cut-off date in determining the grade placement is end of January. The following scheme is provided to illustrate student’s minimum age for each level. The school accepts students of age 3+ entering KG 1, but the student should be 4 years old by February.
The same rule applies to all levels.

2. Assessment. Prospective students will undertake a form of assessment as arranged by concerned Counselor/Officer.
a) Those seeking admission to KG1 until Grade 1 should pass the oral assessment to be conducted by concerned teacher/administrator.
b) Those seeking admission to Grade 2 until Grade 12 should undertake the following before being accepted:

• Submit a copy of student’s academic report from previous school (average rate of not less than 75%);
• Pass both written and oral assessments.

c)  Interview by the Principal and other concerned administrator/s is required.
3. Admission. If admitted, complete the school’s registration procedures and submit the required supporting documents below;
a. Photocopy of the Birth Certificate, Passport, and CPR;
b. Original Transfer Certificate from the school last attended;
c. Conduct Certificate from the school last attended;
d. Official copy of the student’s academic report from the school last attended confirming successful completion of the preceding class;
e.  Completed Medical Record from an authorized Medical Practitioner (for KG going to Grade 1);
f.  Passport sized photo (4 pcs.); and
g. Any other information parents consider necessary for the school to know
B. ADMISSION TO IGCSE & IBDP
1. Prospective students seeking admission to IGCSE and the IB Diploma Programme are requested to meet with the concerned Coordinator and shall undertake the following procedures;
a. Submit a copy of student’s academic report;
b. Prospective students may inquire about the programme;
c. Wait for the call to set your schedule for entrance examination;
d. Pay required fee and take the entrance examination;
e. Wait for the call to inform you about the results;
f. If needed, you will be asked to present yourself for an interview;
g. Present yourself on the date and time of the interview;
h. Wait for the final decision about your application;
i. If admitted, see the concerned Coordinator to plan your course of study;
j. Complete your registration.
2. Continuing Students of APG School should:
a. Attend the pre-IB orientation in March;
b. Fill up the pre-registration form with your parents;
c. Submit the form to the IB Coordinator;
d. Discuss with the IB Coordinator if you have questions about the courses;
e. Complete your registration once your courses have been approved.
C. FEES
The following fees are compulsory and non-refundable.
1. Entrance Exam Fee (Not Applicable to KG): 10 Dinars perstudent

• This is a one-time fee payable when the application form is submitted. This fee is applicable to all students applying for Grades 1 to 12 admission to APG School for the first time.

2. Registration fee for new students:

• 50 Dinars per student as one-time payment to be paid upon registration.
