Welcome to Early Learners Nursery a very caring and happy place where every child matters.
Headed up by Mrs. Barbara Botha, A UK qualified Early Years Teacher with 10 + years of experience in Bahrain.
We offer the highest quality of care and education.
We welcome children aged between approximately 15 months and 4+ years into:
The Smarties class, for our youngest children, from 15 months to 2 years.
The Busy Bees class is for our slightly older babies born September to December.
Our Bright Buttons, Clever Cats and Dazzling Dolphins classes are for our Pre-Nursery children.
The Superstars class is for Nursery aged children who will move on to 'big school' at the end of the school year after their fourth birthday.
We are a small school and we are proud of the loving and supportive atmosphere we have created, where children thrive as they develop emotionally and socially as well as academically. Committed to all our children reaching their full potential, we have rigorous planning and assessment procedures but they are delivered in a nurturing environment which fosters confidence and independent thought.

PRACTICAL INFORMATION
ARRIVING AND LEAVING THE NURSERY
Please be punctual at drop off and pick up times. If you are late collecting your child, staff are unable to get on with the daily planning and updating of childrens progress reports. In the event of an absolute emergency, please call the office on 13613972 or 39380018 to inform us you will be late.
Designated Adults: We only allow parents and authorised adults to collect children.
CHILDREN'S DAILY WEAR
Clothes and shoes with easy to open fastenings will help your child to become independent quickly. Much of our work is very messy and even though the children wear aprons, clothes inevitably become spattered. For this reason, please send your child in old clothes so that they can take advantage of the whole curriculum.
You should also provide:
- A hat with your child’s name clearly labelled
- A bag with a change of clothes
- Nappies, wipes and nappy sacks if appropriate
- Sun cream
Nursery children must be toilet trained at the time of entering the Nursery Class
SNACK
At Early Learners we believe that mealtimes should be a happy, social time where skills can be developed and where healthy eating habits get established. Please send a nourishing, child sized snack. Two, three and four year olds do not eat large amounts of food and prefer small quantities such as bite size sandwiches, several slices of cucumber, and pieces of fruit. Grapes and tomatos can pose a choking hazard, please cut these in half for your child's own safety. Please save chocolate and sweets for home!
Please provide your child with a refillable water bottle. Any other drinks should be in cartons or flasks. Please do not send in any fizzy, canned or bottled drinks.
Early Learners Nursery has a strict NO NUTS POLICY!
ILLNESS
Please do not send your child to nursery if s/he is sick. Children need to be well to partake in daily learning environment and we also do not want other children to pick up the same infection.
Please inform us if your child is ill and cannot attend the nursery. Should your child become ill whilst at the nursery, we will contact you immediately to pick up your child.
BEHAVIOUR
Early Learners Nursery is a positive place where teachers model the behaviours we want to foster in our pupils because children do as we do and not as we say ! The six golden rules are the corner stones of our philosophy.
There are 6 Golden Rules at Early Learners:
- Gentle hands
- Kind words
- Listen to other people
- Share and take turns
- Try your best
- Think about how other people feel
If we all work towards these rules we can make a real difference to every child’s self esteem and happiness.
CURRICULUM
We use the recently revised British Early Years Foundation Stage ( EYFS ) curriculum, covering the seven Areas of Learning:
- Personal, Social and Emotional Development
- Communication, Language and Literacy
- Physical Development
- Literacy
- Mathematical Development
- Understanding the World
- Expressive Arts and Design
Early Learners planning is objective led and provides an exciting journey through the EYFS objectives towards the Early Learning Goals, as set out in 'Curriculum Guidance for the Foundation Stage,' a publication from the 'Qualification & Curriculum Authority’.
COMMUNICATING WITH PARENTS
The home-school link is very important to us. You will be able to discuss any aspect of your child’s care with staff on a daily basis. More formal parent interviews are scheduled twice a year, once in the first term and once in the second term. Workbooks recording your child's Learning Journey will be sent home each term. Timings of meetings are flexible to allow both parents to attend.
Each week we will email photographs and a short message to let you know what your child has most enjoyed at nursery as well as any significant progress she/he has made. Emails are sent over the weekend.
