Philosophy
EtonHouse has developed its philosophy based on research and internationally accredited best practice in education that supports a child focused learning and teaching environment.
At EtonHouse, we aim to develop each child into a well-balanced individual through engaging environments that support children’s curiosity and wonder; that engage children and that offer them a wide range of materials to work in purposefully designed learning areas.
Every child should acquire social skills and the confidence to communicate freely and easily with both adults and peers. EtonHouse has been established to provide a happy, relaxed and safe environment that contributes to the development of the whole person.
Our excellent staff- to-child ratio is a vital factor in the success of our programmes. We offer children a multi-dimensional programme with many diverse and spontaneous learning opportunities. We provide an environment in which children grow in independence and take responsibility for their own learning.
Bilingualism
EtonHouse schools offer an exceptional bilingual programme and are recognized as a leading provider of an authentic dual language curriculum.

EtonHouse Pre School
EtonHouse Bahrain provides an Early Years Programme for children aged from 18 months to 4 years of age. Our qualified, international class teachers are supported by classroom assistants.
The early years are vitally important in the mental, physical and social development of every child. It is important that their individual needs are identified through observation and documentation of their interests, development and progress. Curriculum goals are met through the co-construction of knowledge where children and adults learn from and teach one another.
EtonHouse provides a enriched, programme with a carefully resourced environment that stimulates the learning and development of children aged 2-4 years. EtonHouse's early childhood curriculum is inspired by internationally accepted best teaching practice from around the world such as the Reggio Emilia educational project of northern Italy.
As part of this inquiry-based learning approach, young children at EtonHouse are respected as competent thinkers and communicators and are offered many opportunities to engage with a range of material and resources that extend and challenge their thinking.
As Early Years Educators, we aim to support children through the "settling in" period of school when there is a temporary separation from their family and adjustment to a new social context. With this vital support children grow to feel confident, secure and empowered and with these positive traits their high self-esteem becomes an important prerequisite for effective learning.
At EtonHouse, the child benefits from a learning environment that promotes the continuous development of their social, cognitive, emotional, physical and creative strengths. Children are offered a range of opportunities to explore values, broaden communication skills, collaborate, make personal choices, group problem solve, develop ideas and explore information. Children's learning and development, during the early years is supported by a framework of long and short term goals. These goals reflect the "whole" development of each individual child.

EtonHouse Kindergarten
EtonHouse Bahrain provides an Early Years Programme for children aged from 3 years to 6 years of age. Our qualified, international class teachers are supported by classroom assistants.
EtonHouse provides an English enriched, programme with a carefully resourced environment that stimulates the learning and development of children aged 3 – 6 years.
We follow the British National Curriculum EYFS and Keystage One curriculum framework including the MOE Arabic programme.
EYFS consists of two year groups, Nursery and Reception and Year 1
In Reception we follow the statutory framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage.
Children in the EYFS learn by playing and exploring, being active and through creative and critical thinking which takes place both indoors and outside.
The curriculum for the Early Years classes is divided into seven areas of learning. Of these seven, there are three prime areas which are the key focus areas in Nursery and Reception. The prime areas are Personal, Social and Emotional Development; Communication and Language; and Physical Development. The remaining four areas are referred to as specific areas of learning. They are Literacy, Mathematics, The World and Expressive Arts and Design, and are incorporated as appropriate within our overall curriculum and according to the needs of individual children.
Personal, Social and Emotional Development – This involves learning to understand our emotions and to manage ourselves in various social situations. It also focuses on developing personal characteristics that are fundamental inbuilding the life skills that are a prerequisite for being a good learner. These include being able to understand and follow school rules, being able to take turns and resolve conflicts, and being able to accept the needs of others.
Communication and Language – This involves giving pupils opportunities to speak and listen in a range of situations and to develop their confidence and skills in expressing themselves. We focus especially on listening to stories, paying attention to the details and being able to recall and retell what happens to other people. We also focus on listening and responding to ideas expressed by others in conversations and discussion along with expanding our vocabulary and the ability to organise, sequence and clarify thinking, ideas, feelings and events.
Physical Development – This involves focusing on big body movements as well as small body movements to develop children’s co-ordination, control, and movement. This includes activities such as holding a pencil with the correct grip, throwing and catching a ball, balancing on a range of equipment, and negotiating space as we move around when playing or when moving around the school.
Key Stage One pupils also learn to read, spell and write using the phonics programme Letters and Sounds

EtonHouse Stay & Play
EtonHouse is delighted to launch a playgroup that is rich in sensorial explorations for infants. Specially developed for children aged 6 months to 20 months old, the adult-accompanied playgroup offers a range of learning experiences within our beautiful and safe learning environment.
Highlights of the programme:
Social - Engaging with others is an integral and vital part of a child’s development. In the company of peers and other adults, there will be plenty of opportunities for your child to observe and develop social skills and begin to make early connections with new people.
Physical - An important developmental domain in infants, physical experiences will help them to master independent movement, object handling and hand to eye coordination, amongst other fine and gross motor skills.
Sensorial - Infants learn through their senses. A variety of sensorial experiences which include textures, sound, smell and visual stimuli are critical for brain development and the development of skills in young children. We encourage children to communicate their thinking in their own unique way by providing a range of natural materials and learning resources.
Musical - Infants and toddlers are born musical. Music enriches a child’s cognition, attention span and language development amongst other skills. A music-rich environment with innovative musical instruments will enhance children’s musical exposure and will offer many fun and engaging learning opportunities.
Through these collaborative learning experiences, children will strengthen their relationships with the primary caregivers and will develop a bond that will enhance their learning as they progress to the next stage of development. Parents and caregivers will develop many skills and strategies to engage effectively with young children and enhance their understanding of key developmental milestones and how best to support them.
Make an appointment today to visit with your family and provoke your senses in our inspiring learning environment specially designed for young learners to explore, reflect and create.
