Description

Welcome to the Ibn Khuldoon National School (IKNS). IKNS is a non-profit self-supporting coeducational institution that is dedicated to providing high quality education for its 1450 Bahraini and non-Bahraini students.

The school offers a bilingual program of study for students from Kindergarten to Grade twelve. We are very proud of our students who can access both Arabic and English with ease and lucidity from an early stage of their lives.

Our faculty is diverse. They come with different accents and dialects, whether it is Arabic or English, providing a rich and supportive learning environment for our students. The faculty is supported by a dedicated team of administrative, IT and support staff, who work in silence to pave the way for education to happen.

IKNS opened its doors to students in 1983. Its first group of students to walk up the graduation stage was in June 1992. Since then, IKNS has graduated more than 1500 young men and women. They are the pride of the school and the gems of Bahrain.

At the top level of the school’s governance, stand the school board and its specialized committees. They are the steam behind the school’s philosophy and the reason for its success. Despite their busy work schedules, they continue to voluntarily provide their expertise, time and effort to ensure that the school is always heading in a forward direction.

IKNS has been affiliated with the International Baccalaureate (IB) since the year 1990, as an IB diploma programme provider. The first group of students sat for the IB diploma examinations in May 1992. Since then, the IB results of our students have been the best on the island.

The school received its full accreditation from the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools (MSA) in the year 1994, and it continues to be in good standing with the association. The accredited status of the school affirms that it provides “the level of quality in its educational programs, services, activities, and/or resources expected by its community of stakeholders and endorsed by the education world”.

As a community of learners, we are very proud of our school and of the achievements that have been accomplished over the years. We are equally committed to continue to enhance our curricula, facilities and services for the best of our students. This is our promise to you.

The Administrative Structure of IKNS

IKNS is administratively divided into three divisions. The Kindergarten and Elementary School (K1 - G5), the Middle School (G6 - G8) and the Secondary School (G9 - G12). Each division has its own principal, who is responsible for the day-to-day running of his/her school. The three principals report to the School President.
