WELCOME TO PALMS SCHOOL, RIFFA
We provide primary education for grades 1 to 6, incorporating family, cultural values and friendship to provide an enriched and rewarding learning experience.
We believe in helping students not only to learn and acquire knowledge, but to grow intellectually, develop ethical awareness, good behaviour and sportsmanship.
WHAT MAKES US SPECIAL?
We’re a small school, with a large sense of pride. Our student numbers allow teachers to take time to individualise lessons and spend quality time with each student. Our younger students become fully aware of what is expected of them in higher grades as they see, hear and interact with older children on a daily basis and play together during breaktime. This encourages easy acceptance of new ideas among friends as well as a strong sense of identification and belonging.
OUR PROMISE
We create a special atmosphere where curiosity and imagination can flourish, empowering students with the knowledge and life skills to reach their full potential.
Our school environment, consisting of good teachers, resources and space to learn, provides the right environment for students to flourish.
- We’re friendly in how we speak to one another, in our deeds and interactions.
- We’re inspired, we learn from each other acknowledging that every individual can make a valuable contribution.
- We’re tolerant, we respect individuality and accept the feelings, habits, or beliefs of others even though they may differ from our own.
- We’re curious, we are interested in learning, understanding things and developing our hearts and minds as far as we can.
- We’re empowering, we encourage children to take control of their own learning and to make good choices.
Above all, we strive to ensure a child's confidence is constantly nurtured through developing their self belief that they can achieve anything.
OUR ETHOS
- We create an educational environment with learning spaces for young minds to explore. Our ethos is based on five principles which form part of our everyday life at Palms.
- We’re inclusive, we’re socially and culturally aware, and open minded.
- We’re aspirational, we encourage our students to be ambitious in their learning, supporting them to grow their minds, thoughts, skills and knowledge.
- We’re open, responsible for the role in your child's life that we play, and transparent in the way we teach.
- We work together to support each other and to make all our interactions beneficial.
- We’re courageous, unafraid to try new things and embrace challenges.

Palms follows the British Curriculum for English, Maths and Science and Bahrain›s national curriculum for Arabic language, social studies and Islamic education.
As a bilingual school, we strive to develop confident, responsible, innovative and engaged learners. We recognize that students are on an active and creative learning journey and our best supported in an environment which encourages learning through play and self-development.
Our lessons are based on differentiated instruction, which caters for the student’s individual needs and levels. Our teachers adopt and encouraging attitude, celebrating the students’ progress and success.
Together, our teachers and students set targets, sharing these with parents to encourage the most supportive learning environment.
Additional education needs a discussed with parents which helps to monitor students’ progress and develop a learning action plan.
EXTRA CURRICULAR
At Palms, we strive to maintain a balance between academic achievement and developing students creative and artistic talents.
Our emphasis on creative arts, sport and drama provides a holistic school experience for students where they are given the opportunity to develop a range of skills, talents and interests. These subjects create not only a key section of our curriculum, they form the basis of our after school programme where students have the opportunity to develop the talents to a greater extent than the normal school day allows.
We provide a broad range of after-school clubs aimed at providing opportunities for students to explore their talents, for example, drama (English & Arabic), science, robotics, cookery, arts & crafts and sports.
