PHILOSOPHY
At Philippine School (Bahrain), we believe in the following:

OBJECTIVES
PSB education aims for the development of individuals. It seeks to nurture learners’ potentials with the end goal of helping develop abilities and attitudes necessary for nation building and global citizenship while appreciating their cultural heritage.
Kindergarten
The Preschool Department is designed to respond the needs of preschool-aged children in preparation for formal education. It aims to cultivate their God-given potentials. It exposes them to activities where they experience the joy of playing, learning, working and living with others. Moreover, it gives them interesting and challenging learning experiences to help them acquire the fundamental skills needed for the formal level of education. The program emphasizes the mastery of the reading, writing and numeracy skills in the context of play and fun. Each pupil is expected to demonstrate
- the basic skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing in English and in Filipino;
- critical and creative thinking through simple numeracy activities in classroom lessons and in games;
- a wholesome personality necessary for socialization and social adjustment in the family, school and in the neighborhood; and
- independence and readiness for formal school work.
Elementary
Elementary education aims to develop the moral, mental, emotional and physical aspects of the child, to provide him experiences in the democratic way of life, and to inculcate ideas and desirable attitude for the development of enlightened, effective and patriotic citizen. The elementary school education specifically aims to
- provoke a high standard of academic training to enable the learners to develop their intellectual capabilities to the highest possible degree;
- inculcate self-discipline and love for work;
- develop proper attitude and wise use of leisure time for further self-realization and for the welfare of the community;
- train the young citizens to be conscious of their rights, duties and responsibilities in a democratic society in order to be active participants of a progressive and productive community;
- develop understanding, appreciation and sentiments about Philippine culture, traditions and virtues as essential bases for attaining national identity and solidarity;
- hone their critical and creative skills through the carefully prepared lessons and activities;
- develop functional literacy and numeracy as basic tools for further learning; and
- acquire the desired knowledge, attitudes, habits and skills in Communication Arts, Science, Mathematics, Civics, Culture, History, Geography, Arts and Home Economics and Computer Education and their wise application in appropriate life situations.
High School
High School education continues the knowledge, skills and values developed in the elementary level. It enriches the moral and academic developments as well as the social skills of the students in order that they can establish a set of values that will guide them in life. High School education further provides the students holistic development deeply rooted in Filipino values and traditions that will make them effectively perform their roles in the local and international community. High School education specifically aims to:
- develop skills in higher intellectual operations and processes, in critical and creative thinking, and in expression activities;
- broaden scientific and technological knowledge and skills as means for optimizing one’s potentials for development and for promoting the welfare of the community;
- develop an enlightened commitment to the national ideals through learning, and cherishing Filipino traditions and values;
- acquire productive and entrepreneurial skills, desirable sets of work ethics, and occupational knowledge essential for making an intelligent choice for a lifetime career and for specialized training in one’s future occupation;
- obtain knowledge, form desirable attitudes, and imbibe moral values for understanding the ideals, aspirations and sentiments of the Filipinos and other peoples; and
- heighten one’s abilities in and appreciation for the arts and sports.
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Admission to Philippine School (Bahrain) is granted to students who are holders of Philippine Passport. Qualified applicants comply with the requirements below and with the policies, rules and regulations of the school.

Notes:
Late enrollment may be allowed within two weeks after the opening of classes.
Admission in any grade level also depends on the class size set by the school.
