The Indian School, Bahrain founded in the year 1950, was initiated by the efforts of the Indian community in the Kingdom of Bahrain. The school commenced its journey with a committed workforce - a Head Mistress and three staff members. 63 years of its successful existence, the school has made significant contribution towards education excellence. Today, The Indian School, Bahrain is one of the largest expatriate schools in the Arabian Gulf with strength of over 11,250 students and an enthusiastic workforce of 600 members. The school is spread over two lovely campus located at Riffa (LKG to III) and Isa Town (IV to XII). The location and the facilities available enrich the campus and set the mood for scholastic learning.

Mission:

Our mission is to provide a teaching and learning environment which is enriched with purposeful and deliberate experiences to extract the best from our students. Our educational conveniences are intended to fulfil the educational aspirations of the students of Indian origin in accordance with the syllabi of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). Students of other nationalities may also be admitted at the discretion of the school.

Our program intends to achieve excellence in the scholastic and non-scholastic activities so as to mould a student into a wholesome personality in the desired direction – inculcating the values, Morales along with compassion and self-efficacy enabling each student to transform into a better social being. We also aim at instilling a sense of appreciation for the Indian culture and traditions and infusing in them a sense of tolerance for other cultures and beliefs without losing sight of their identity and their roots. Our indulgences are also devised in a way so as to convert each individual learner into an individual with sound academic base, analytical skills, civic responsibilities and cultural values. We are full-fledged in creating an environment where every individual in the campus has the freedom to think, express and redefine boundaries set for them for the better cause of humanity and be a world class citizen.

Dress Code:

  • The dress code will be followed during the School hours as well as at all School Events.
  • Sweaters and Jackets worn in winter must be navy blue in colour without any designs/ patterns.
  • Only black belt will be permitted for the boys.  The buckle of the belt should be simple.
  • Girls shall have the belts stitched along with the pinafore and shall not use any other type of belt.
  • The pinafore shall be long enough to cover the knees in standing/sitting position.  It should not be tight and should not have any slit.
  • Girls with long hair should plait it or tie it back.  It should not fall over the face or eyes.  Ribbons or hair bands, if used, must be white/blue.  Make-up of any kind will not be permitted.
  • White P.T. shoes shall be used only on days of physical education class and not on any other day.
  • Hats, caps, sweat bands and sunglasses/photo-chromatic glasses shall not be worn inside the school campus.
  • Side burns fancy and irregular haircuts and beard (except on religious grounds with parents seeking prior written permission in person for the student) are not allowed.
  • Use of jewellery / hair gel/ cosmetics which become a nuisance or attracts undue attention in a study situation will not be permitted.

Kindly note that students coming to school in improper uniform will attract fine and punishment.  We also intend to reward the students for the best turn out.

 

School Transport

The school has students and staff coming from all over Bahrain. All the students and staff are transported in AC buses.The transport department regulates the movement of the buses from pick up to drop. The school owns 3 buses and 2 mini vans. The remaining 140 buses are contracted.
