Admission

Admission is open to all nationalities with first priority to Indian Nationals and those who prefer Indian curriculum (CBSE , New Delhi). Our main intake of student enrolment for the Academic Year that starts in April is from January March. The second intake is af ter the 15th of August just to fill seats that fall vacant due to TC. It is mandatory for the student applicants to submit the eviden ce of fee receipt issued from the previous institution for the month of April, May & June.

Admission during the year depends on the availability of seats in each class from time to time. Admission to the higher classes is purely based on merit.

Procedures: Purchase the enrolment form and return the duly filled forms to the School Office within 3 days of receipt. Delay in submission of the application and the relevant documents will result in disqualification.

Admission Test for the April Session : (Hindi / Arabic knowledge is compulsory at the time of Admission Test)

LKG: Personal interaction with the parents, child and the Admission Officer.

JKG: Study Skills, Language Skills, Numerical concepts, Vocabulary with pictures or objects.

SKG: Capital Letters and Small Letters (Print Script), Numbers (0 50), Hindi/ Arabic (Spoken & Written), Communication Skills, Basic Number Concepts

Grade I: Sentence Construction (Oral & Written), Number Names (0 50), Print Script and Number Writing

Grade II: Addition, Subtraction Tables, Composition in Print Script

Grade III: Composition in Print Script, Addition, Subtraction and Multiplication Tables, Speed in Mental calculation, Basic Hindi /Arabic taught in previous class

Grade IV VI: Composition in Cursive Writing, Number Formation, Problem solving skill test, Hindi/Arabic (Spoken & Written)

* September intake is focused on the portions covered during April June in the previous school in the relevant class.

Admission for Grade II and above will be only on MOE approval to be obtained on submission of the following documents to the School:

• Original TC duly attested by the concerned authorities of the home Country. (School & the Board of Affiliation)
• Original TC has also to be attested by the respective Embassy and Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the Country of current residence.
• Original Report Card.
• Medical Certificate

Age Eligibility :

LKG : 3 years as on 31st March Preparatory Class

JKG : 4 years as on 30th July

SKG : 5 years as on 30th July

Grade 1 : 6 years as on 30th July

Age factor will be subject to CBSE regulations from time to time.

Second Language Option : Arabic/Hindi(All Indians) from JKG onwards

Third Language Options : French/Malayalam/Kannada/Telugu/Marathi/ Tamil / Spoken Hindi (for non Hindi speakers & Arabic for Non Arabic speakers) from Grade I

SCHOOL LIBRARY

Every NHS student cherishes the visit to the library where a set of exciting books welcomes him to transport him to the word of fantasy and imagination. Our library houses books that instil in our students a love for literature and kindle their scientific curiosity

COMPUTER LAB

A State of Art computer lab is another feature which NHS can be proud of. Each student gets a computer to work on and hone his skills under the guidance of qualified and experienced computer teachers.

PHYSICAL EDUCATION

Physical Education is given prime importance at NHS as we believe in the holistic development of our students. In addition to the regular Physical training classes, the school is starting a sports club to provide our students specialised coaching in athletics and games after school hours.

NATURE CLUB

The vision of NHS is to mould our students into responsible citizens who care for the environment. The vegetable garden in our school in entirely managed by the student members of the Nature Club. They have learnt the basics of cultivation, irrigation, and plant care. Undoubtedly, this valuable experience has given our students a sense of responsibility and awareness of the natural world.

YOGA

Qualified yoga teacher provides yoga instruction enabling the students to have increased concentration and a healthy life style. Yoga classes are also provided by the instructors assigned by the Indian embassy.

SCIENCE CLUB

The Annual science exhibition is a major achievement by our science club. Students are motivated to be innovative and to develop the scientific temperament. The experiments demonstrated by the youngsters have often baffled the elders.

MATH CLUB

The Math Club which is envisaged as an afternoon activity will go a long way in developing the reasoning power and analytical skills of the young minds.

COUNSELLING SERVICE

Two counsellors do a meritorious service in our campus by giving the students a patient hearing and giving them the necessary advice.

SPECIAL EDUCATION (Inclusive programme)

The NHS Special Education wing started in the year 2000 with an aim “To meet the needs of children endowed with different abilities providing them with proactive environment.” We believe in their potential and address their needs by providing a one- to- one coaching. Children with autism and manageable learning disability have been availing this service.. We work closely with families to understand their cultural needs and to incorporate these requests into the students’ daily programme and care.

The Special Education Wing is the face of NHS. The focus is on the rehabilitation of children with special needs. Classes are divided according to the age and cognitive domain of the children. There are structured individual training programme aiming at meeting goals set for each level.

Eligibility: A child with special need can be enrolled only along with a relevant assessment / certification by a Clinical Psychologist / Psychiatrist / Diagnostic Centre attested and certified by the Government Psychiatric Hospital in Salmaniya which is functioning under the Ministry of Health.

Classification of levels is done after intrinsic evaluation based on the Health Ministry Records. The classroom programme has a balance of academic learning with a focus on Literacy and Numeracy as well as developing the social skills and life skills to enable our students to function more easily within their families and their community.

PAYMENT DETAILS

1. Payment of fees can be made in advance either Quarterly / Termly or Yearly.
2. Tuition Fees, if to be paid monthly, must be done before the 10th of every month.
3. Fees will not be accepted by the Cashier without the Fee Card. Parents are requested to ensure that the fee card is updated.
4. Names of pupils whose fees remain unpaid till 2.00 p.m. on the last working day of the month will be struck off the roll with effec t f rom the first day of next month entailing reinstatement charges of BD 25.000
5. Before proceeding on leave during the Academic Year, parents must ensure that the child's fees are paid in advance to avoid reinstat eme nt charges.
6. Report Cards of Fee Defaulters will be withheld in the Accounts Department which can be obtained after clearing the dues on PTM days
7. Fees once paid will not be refunded except the Caution Deposit which will be refunded along with Transfer Certificate after deduction s if any.
8. A notice period of one month to be served for the issuance of Transfer Certificate If not, parents have to forego fee for a mon th as payment in lieu thereof.
9. Parents who intend to withdraw the child should inform the School Office in writing before the 10th of February of the Academic Year.
10. Cancellation of Transfer Certificate entails readmission charge of BD.25/ and BD.5/ for cancellation of Transfer Certificate. Readmission is strictly on the availability of seat in the respective class.
11. Cancellation of Transfer Certificate at the end of the Academic year after PTM day will be considered as a New Admission.
12. Duplication of documents will be charged as listed. Fee Receipt: BD.1/ per copy. Fee Card: BD.0.500, Report Card: BD.3.000. Transfer Certificate: BD.5/ 5/--, Diary: BD 2.000/--, ID Card: BD 3.000
13. Fees can be paid either through SADAD or by cash payment
14. Transport service will be withdrawn if the dues are not cleared within the month
